Who
Who?
I am as much an environmentalist as I am an editor, as much an educator as I am a writer.

I love to play games, solve problems, and make connections with people.
What?
"Wordsmith" is a term that I came up with to define what I do (editing, copyediting, writing, research, proofing, consulting, ad nauseum). It's more evocative, I hope, and is much easier to fit on a business card.
Where?
I'm located in Portland, Oregon, one of the most beautiful and eco-friendly cities in the USA. I enjoy working face-to-face with local clients, particularly small businesses, but also work remotely with clients throughout the rest of the country. I'm an experienced, organized, and responsible telecommuter.
When?
In 1998, I graduated magna cum laude from Lafayette College with a double major in English and Communications. Over the past 10 years, I have been a web editor, a journalist, a teacher, a trip leader, and a book publisher. I moved to Portland in the fall of 2006.
Why?
I chose to take on
the risks and challenges of self-employment because no single job could offer the variety, the challenges, and the experiences that being a freelance wordsmith have provided.
